About Us

Connecticut Composers, Inc. (CCI) is a non-profit organization which supports composers residing or working in Connecticut by promoting their work through concerts, CD releases, and conferences. Concerts, salons, lectures and annual meetings are held throughout the state of Connecticut with a deliberate intention to rotate locations in order to make CCI activities available to as many residents of Connecticut as possible.

Since its inception in 1981, numerous members have received performances and recordings of their works through CCI's efforts. Among these are special concert collaborations with orchestras from New Haven, New Britain, Bridgeport, Norwalk, Hartford, Manchester, the Connecticut String Orchestra and the U.S. Coast Guard Band. Choruses include those from Yale, Farmington, Hartford, Danbury, Newtown, Plainville and The Kent Singers. Chamber music concerts have been presented at The Wadsworth Atheneum, The Bushnell Center for Performing Arts, The Bronson & Hutensky Theater, Connecticut College in New London, Sprague Hall, the Universitry of Connecticut in Storrs, Central Conecticut State University in New Britain, Western connecticut State university in Danbury, The Richter Arts Center, the Pequot Library, and The Hartt School, among others.

Workshops, conferences, residencies and commissions arranged through CCI in cooperation with arts organizations and music educators promote and enhance creative music projects for cultural and educational enrichment in both public and private schools across the state.

Connecticut Composers, Inc. [CCI] is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 incorporation. All donations are tax deductible.
